John is a co-founder of Strategic Talent Solutions and was managing partner before stepping down from the role in 2017. His decision to start a firm in 2004 developed out of his work with CEO’s and leadership teams while at a previous firm. John grew to believe that most work in leadership and talent management was disconnected from the levers that actually move a business forward and ensure its success. Since the firm’s inception, STS has grown to serve some of the world’s most highly respected companies and partnered with them to drive business results.
John continues to advise CEO’s and develop future business leaders. He and his team work regularly with boards to develop CEO succession plans, help management develop the right structures and process, and provide developmental services at both the executive and operational level. Understanding each client’s strategy and business plan, and helping them ensure that they build the organization and talent base to deliver on their goals is at the heart of all of the firm’s work. For the past five years STS has also concentrated on the power of team effectiveness - using leadership and operational teams as a leverage point for the business. Team coaching has become one of the distinctive approaches STS uses to impact results and increase competitive capacity.
John works with leaders from a variety of industries. Current or recent clients include Kerry Group, PwC, McDonalds, Bank of America, HCSC Blue Cross Blue Shield, Kansas City Power & Light, and Best Buy. In addition to these better known companies, John works with leaders of companies of all sizes who are looking for ways to improve the performance of their business.
