John focuses his consulting on helping leaders drive toward improved business results. As both an individual and team coach, he consults on a wide variety of topics, including business unit alignment, talent management, and organization design. He joined Strategic Talent Solutions in 2005. He helped the firm design its approach to team coaching.
As part of his consulting practice, he is frequently asked to facilitate leadership meetings when topics are more strategic rather than focused solely on talent management or organization design.
John’s individual clients include executives and professionals (physicians, attorneys, and consultants) in for-profit, not-for-profit, and academic settings. His clients include Aon, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, BCU, Consumers Credit Union, The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, Misericordia, Navigant Consulting, Inc., Northwestern University, Ornua Foods North America, Sinai Health System, Summit Credit Union, and the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation.
Before joining STS, John was a partner at Hewitt Associates. Over 19 years, he worked in Hewitt’s communication practice, as an executive in Hewitt’s e-solution health exchange benefits business and as a Talent & Organizational Consultant. He was a managing consultant and was responsible for the overall relationship and increasing market share of targeted clients including Allstate, Caterpillar Inc., William Wrigley Jr. Company, HSBC North America, and Navistar.
John is an adjunct faculty member of the Northwestern University School of Education and Social Policy, Center for Learning and Organizational Change. He was a guest lecturer at the University of Illinois College of Law. He was a book review editor for “People and Strategy,” the journal of the Human Resources Planning Society. John holds a B.A. in Journalism from Creighton University and an M.S.J. from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
