Brian’s work with Strategic Talent Solutions focuses on the energy and utilities sectors at both the operational and executive levels. He consults with industry leaders and teams on operational efficiency and safety, leadership development and selection assessment. He works closely with Mary Jo Rogers in the nuclear and utilities industries, and, as a native of SE Texas, he’s passionate about transferring the lessons learned in nuclear operations to the oil and gas industry. Brian’s clients have included Tennessee Valley Authority, Entergy, NSTAR Electric & Gas and the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation.
Prior to joining Strategic Talent Solutions, Brian was a member of the clinical faculty at the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics (UWHC) in Madison, WI. While there he specialized in medical/surgical consultation and liaison services, co-managed a consult service to a 471-bed tertiary care medical center and created and led a consult service to the heart and lung transplant programs. Brian also worked across the organization to develop and manage innovative service-delivery programs, and was recognized with a hospital leadership award for these efforts.
At UWHC, Brian coached physician leaders on managing medical and surgical teams during change and stress points, resolving team conflicts and breaking down silos to promote effective program collaboration. He created and co-led a professional development module for residents and developed an assertiveness training workshop to decrease medical errors. Brian also created an assessment and selection process for faculty and residents.
Brian has also managed a consulting practice working with executives and small business owners on various leadership and organizational effectiveness issues.
Brian is a member of the Society of Consulting Psychology. He holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and a B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. He completed his internship at the Vanderbilt University and Nashville VA Medical Centers in Nashville, TN.
