Ed Gubman, Ph.D.
Ed Gubman advises CEOs and other executives about how to lead their teams, change their organizations, engage their employees, and develop their talents. His 26-year consulting career has focused on showing leaders how to leverage their most vital competitive asset—their people—increase business results. His best-selling book, The Talent Solution, translated into five languages, demonstrates how to grow and be profitable on the foundation of an aligned work force. His new book, The Engaging Leader, shows leaders how to win with todayís free-agent mindset employees.

After 17 years with Hewitt Associates, most of them building and leading its global practice in Organization Effectiveness, Ed is now a founding partner of Strategic Talent Solutions, a consulting firm that helps executives to personally lead their companies and engage their employees to be passionate about business goals. He consults, speaks, writes, and researches about people strategies, leadership development, talent management, employee engagement, and strategic HR. Ed's clients have included companies as diverse as Abbott Laboratories, Allina Health Systems, Baxter Healthcare, BP Oil, Capital One, Cargill, CDW Computer Centers, Coca-Cola, the Federal Reserve, Intel, Nextel, Northwestern Mutual, Target, Tellabs, Shell Oil, Snap-On Tools, Whirlpool, and W.W. Grainger. Recent consulting assignments include:

  • Advising the President of a technology company on his personal effectiveness, while helping him formulate a new business strategy with his team

He teaches in the MBA and executive education programs at Cornell University, the University of Dayton, and the University of Wisconsin.
